Woman´s Army Corps.
Antoine Frissell Becon (1907 - 1988) was an american photographer known by her pictures about fashion and The Second World War . Toni learnt this profession under the teachings of the greats Cecil Beaton and Edward Steichen. She started collaborating with some Conde Nast publications: Vogue and Harper's Bazaar.
After the outbreak of The Second World War, she joined up with The Red Cross. Later on, she worked with the 8th Air Force of American Army. She took pictures of families, kids, bombings, pilot women, military men... Toni converted her work into a recognition of the ladies' labour inside this war.
When the war was concluded, she continued with her fashion works; she became one of the favourite photographers between celebrities. She snapshot the Kennedy couple, First Minister Winston Churchill.. Her photos appeared at Sport Ilustrated and Life.
I love the style her photographs reveal, her compositions and the thematic. The one with model and flag and that with the three women looking backwards ready to jump into a sea that we cannot see.
And this one in which models are chatting during a show break....
